After a long wait, the Ae 8/14 11801 on a scale of 1:32 is finally here!

It seemed as though the moment would never come, but… January 2012 will witness the delivery of the huge Swiss locomotive the Ae 8/14 which, on a scale of 1:32, will fill a big gap.

Ae 8/14 11801 - 1:32

We have already written a lot about this model in its technical datasheet. There isn’t much left to add, other than two important details that contribute to making it unique:

  1. USB
It’s equipped with a USB memory where you can save your ownership certificate if you like. You’ll be sent this on CD/DVD with other media. In this way your model will be “signed” with its encrypted certificate that only you will be able to read.

  2. The packaging
SBB-CFF-FFS Ae 8/14 - 1 (1:32) In solid mahogany, the packaging has been conceived to open in such a way as to allow you to admire the model without even having to take it out of the box. Many model enthusiasts are unable to display their models due to a lack of space; well with this packaging, we’ve found a solution for those who are obliged to enjoy their purchases during fleeting moments during the year.
Those who wish to display it on their desk or in a display cabinet can remove the model easily and safely, keeping it anchored to the base. The base has been designed to house a display cover to protect the Ae 8/14 from dust.
Those of you who are lucky enough to see the model in action simply have to remove the 4 screws that fasten it to the base.
SBB-CFF-FFS Ae 8/14 - 1 (1:32) Important: we have always offered free delivery by UPS for this model, but due to the size of the packaging, we are forced to ask you to contribute to the expenses, and this contribution will be specified in your pro-forma invoice. We apologise for being unable to keep our promise, but know that you will understand …

Now we’re going to leave you to admire some pictures on our website which are able to express the emotions aroused by this project far better than words.
